  • Addition and Subtraction: Introducing simple addition and subtraction problems using objects, number lines, and mental strategies to help students develop their arithmetic skills.
  • Multiplication and Division: Understanding the basics of grouping and sharing, laying the groundwork for more advanced multiplication and division in later years.
  • Fractions: Recognizing and finding halves and quarters of objects, shapes, and simple quantities.
  • Measurement: Learning to compare and measure lengths, heights, weights, and capacities, as well as understanding basic concepts of time and money.
  • Geometry: Identifying common 2D shapes (circles, triangles, squares, and rectangles) and simple 3D shapes, recognizing patterns, and learning about positions and directions.

Year 1 English

Year 1 English tutoring focuses on nurturing young readers and writers through engaging activities that develop literacy skills. The program covers:

  • Reading Comprehension: Introducing children to a variety of texts, including stories, poems, and informational texts, to improve reading skills. Students learn to identify characters, settings, and key events.
  • Writing Skills: Encouraging early writing by forming letters correctly, writing simple words, and beginning to construct basic sentences. Children also practice writing their own names and short descriptions.
  • Phonics and Spelling: Developing phonics skills to support reading and spelling, including recognizing letter sounds, blending sounds to read words, and segmenting words to spell them.
  • Grammar and Punctuation: Introducing the basics of grammar, such as capital letters, full stops, and simple conjunctions, to help children form complete and meaningful sentences.
  • Speaking and Listening: Building communication skills through storytelling, role-play, and group discussions, encouraging children to express themselves confidently and listen attentively.
